Assistant Professor

Randy Clark was born in the state of Utah in the United States. His father was pilot in the Air Force and his mother an elementary school teacher. In Fall 2016, Randy joined Wenzhou-Kean University (WKU) as an Assistant Professor in Graphic Design program, and became tenured in 2022. He retired in 2023.

 

Upon completion of his studies in the Art and Design program at the University of Utah, Mr. Clark began in earnest his professional career as a graphic design working for the next 22 years. Among some of his clients have been Warner Brothers, PEP Boys, the Utah Jazz NBA basketball. He later earned a Master of Fine Arts degree at the age of 50 from University of Utah! From there, he accepted his first teaching position with South Dakota State University, and after 16 years took an early retirement to take the position of assistant professor at Wenzhou-Kean University.

 

While at WKU, Prof. Clark has won 70 international graphic design awards from Graphis, Communication Arts, Creative Quarterly, University and College Design Association, and others. In Graphis alone, Prof. Clark has won 2 Platinum and 33 Gold awards. His work can be found in 11 museum and university permanent collections on three continents. He was recently commissioned to design a poster for the 10 x 10 International Exhibition of Design that was exhibited in December of 2021 at the China/Shanghai Art Museum.

 

In addition, he founded the Graphic Design Student Association, generously donating to students’ events. Prof. Clark has contributed to the building of the design program and witnessed its growth and prestige.
